About Us
Theta Omicron Chapter
Theta Omicron Chapter was chartered on February 17, 1996 at the University of Northern Colorado at an installation ceremony performed by Epsilon Omicron (Colorado State University). The Founding Fathers made fraternity history and broke both records and expectations when they achieved the still-standing records of fastest colony to chapter chartering time. These men also became the first and only chapter of Delta Tau Delta to receive the coveted Hugh Shields Flag (the Fraternity's highest honor) within one year of chartering.
Those records are good examples of the climate and standards the Founding Fathers set for the chapter, a spirit still pursued today. The Theta Omicron Chapter of Delta Tau Delta holds its members in high-esteem with their involvement on campus, exemplary character, honorable reputation, and achievements in the Greek community.
Delta Tau Delta consistently places in one of the top three spots for academic standings, and boasted the highest new member GPA for Spring 2009. Theta Omicron also prides itself as being the largest house to maintain academic superiority.
The chapter has won the Hugh Shields Flag, mentioned above as the highest honor given to chapters by the fraternity, three times out of thirteen years in existence. To understand the benchmark of success that is: Colorado State University's Epsilon Omicron won the award in 2005 for the first time when Theta Omicron won it in 2005 for its third time, despite the fact that Epsilon Omicron is significantly older than Theta Omicron. The chapter has also won the prestigious Court of Honor award, placing it in the top fifth of all 116 chapters of Delta Tau Delta, a noteworthy seven times in thirteen years.
Perhaps most visibly on campus, our chapter members serve in five of the nine elected positions on the Student Senate including the student body president and the student trustee. Theta Omicron members also hold 2 out of the 7 elected positions on the Interfraternity Council.
Our chapter house is located at 1602 11th avenue.
